if u use less electricity and less nutes and have to water less and cool the room less thats a great thing........plus u dont have to replace the bulbs for 20 years.......try that with a hps light

Yeah ok i'm getting to the point, i've been looking at LED panels on e-bay but the wattage seems really low, compared to Fluoro.

Blue light wave length: 465
Red light wave length: 650
LED QTY: Red: 72pcs Blue: 40pcs Total =72+40=112pcs
Working Voltage: 240V
Power: 45W

What do you think, i only want a small set up in order to grow my personal use? Should i go for it? Or just by the below Fluoro lights which come with reflector etc no ballast required either.

100W ENERGY SAVING LAMP - 6400K
100W ENERGY SAVING LAMP - 2700K

Any replies would be good, Thanks Ty
Well LED's won't be cheaper than CFL, so if you are looking to save money CFL would beat it. However your LED's sound like they would work for a couple few small plants.

FLED or Fluoro

Thanks to everyone for the replies, such a great response!

Sorry i didnt reply last night i had made the three hour round trip to pick up some buds! It was worth it!

I'm still completely undecided but i think i will go with the Fluoro. I can get either of the set up's mentioned for under AUD 150 so there's no price issue really. But i think i will go with the tried and tested way for now as i can't afford to buy another light strait away. i can afford to experiment with new technology when i finish my studies at the end of the year and get a job! (I'm only 36).

I be using this sight more often and will attache pictures of whatever i go with.

Oh Yeah and the size grow area is just a large cabinet or single wardrobe, not in my house.

Thanks,
Tychan

Has anyone seen the GrowPanels that have came out???

225 LED setup for around $55 (on their site)http://shop.sunshine-systems.com/product.sc?productId=1

They also have a massive LED setup for like $1700, not sure what the difference is besides more LEDs.

Anyone use these? If NASA uses it to grow in space than it must work good huh?

They have a Grow UFO too which seems small and compact with a ton of growing power. I havent met anyone who has even seen these to be honest, I might pick up a $55 panel to see how it works with 1 plant.

CFL is probably best bet for the price still..

Nooo dont buy that china pannel. Total junk and wont grow bud. Youll need high power (1w +) leds to grow bud. Best to assemble yourself imo. The UFO works according to high times but be careful theres tons of possibly inferior ufo knockoffs floating around. The site you linked is selling a knockoff ufo. Hidhut.com sells the original UFO reviewed by High Times.

Good to know, I had no idea they were knock offs, but for the price they listed I am not surprised.

Thanks for the helpful info dude!

Hey bud, my LED's are 470 on blue 627 on the red. eBay lights are 470 on blue and 650 on the red. I think those could work despite being off on the red. I have not tried them and have yet to see a thread with someone successfully using the ebay panel. However in theory, I think they could work.

I veg my moms on 24/7 with LED's and give my seeders 24/7 LED for first 2-3 weeks of growth.

Wow $900 dollars. I would just go HID for that price unless of course you have heat issues which probably can and should be ironed out.
