Hi everyone, I have two concerns regarding my plant: (1) the stem experienced some trauma early on and has grown with a bend at the base and (2) there is a flaky, filmy coating -- like dried glue -- on the stem. Can the plant overcome these problems?

Plant will be fine. That stem flaking happens all the time and should not be a problem.
