when people refer to MG soil, they are meaning ANYTHING that is pre-ferted.

BECAUSE I WILL SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME, MIRACLE GROW MAKES ORGANIC SOIL THAT IS BAD ASS.

NOT ALL MG SOIL IS BAD.

Mg isnt bad... soil's soil. people blame nute burn or dry soil on mg perhaps you MG haters need to read the holy bible to fixing plant probs before you bash MG.

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11688

Read that, try it out.. MG soil works fine. i clone with MG soil and i get 99% success.. no probs here... cant even comphrend how people cant use mg soil

agreed, it's called jumping on the bandwagon, and Yes pre-ferted soil can lead to nute burn ealry on, It's not just MG soil. You would have to be hella ignorant, Yes i mean that, If you truly believe ALL MG soil is bad.

Didn't we already establish their organic line was good?

Anyways I think this thread has shown some of what MG and shultz (WITH TIME RELEASE FERTS) can do. Maybe you guys are just lucky and have some super hardy strain but the bottom line is those time release ferts are bad.

Or its just me.

Now go grow some weed.

lol i love these smileys.

Senior ganj,
I am douching us out a bump here so all the new boys and girls can see what added nutes does to baby seedlings.

I wish I had came acrross this thread before I started a few months ago. I used the MG with time release ferts in it along with my regular Pure Blend Gro. Man they were great at first and then once I started to flower them, they looked like crap. Total nute burn on most my fan leaves. Luckly I was able to save em with some GH Flush solution.

Stay away from any soil with "time release" ferts in it. I'm sure regular MG potting soil is ok to use, but take my advice and stay away from anything with ferts already in it.

I'll don't have any pics available at the moment, but I can probably put a few up. The leaves basicly curled under, and had all the signs of nutrient burn. They became kinda crispy and new growth was severely curled.

If you look at the soil, the time release ferts are small lil round capsuls similar in size to a bb. If you squeeze them they pop open and release the nutrient.

This stuff is definitely for use in a controlled grow, where you want total control

Yes.
If you can get pics up that would be great. I think it would help out some of the new boys and girls not make the same mistakes we did.
Thanks.

Stick with Organic potting soil preferably not Miricle Grow. Organic usually guarantees the soil is (1)sterilized and (2) free of added fertilizer.

The soil I use is the generic potting soil from walmart. It's the only soil they have that doesn't have fertilizers. It's nice and dark and has a little bit of perlite mixed in already too. They come in 10 pound bags, and they're only 99 cents per bag.
