I have my water line now about an inch and a half below the net pot. Just a little room for the roots to get direct contact with air and the rest is under water getting air from the pump.

Oh Happy Day. Senior Ganj, I was going to congratulate you on starting what I thought should be a thread that we would point all noobies to who ask us the inevitable question "should I grow with Miricle Grow". However, it seems like the thread went a little off topic. Here are some old pictures that I rustled up of my first AND second grows some three years or so ago, with Miricle Grow that contained "Time release ferts". I think the second grow was with Scotts which had the same damn stuff in it. None of the local hardware stores out here sold anything other than this (that I was able to find).

Plants start off ok under my low powered and inadequate flouros.

Got a little off topic, but eh, giving those that want to use the mg another option. Is that two plants in one pot i see...

But the time relase ferts are what get you. Then if you add any more with the time release later, bad things will happen

But, after getting them under my new 400 watt HPS, the trouble really started.

Here is my fabulous second grow not with Miricle Grow but, with some very similar shit by our good friend Scott's. Right off the bat; plant trouble. Needless to say, yields were terrible.

Just my 2cents

You guys have had a bad go with MG, sad to see plants look like that.. I my self use MG organic, But i use a 50/50 MG/perlite. I have yet to have anyproblems with it. The added perlite does wonders for the DRAINAGE problem that normaly comes with MG soil.. Again this is just my own experince, I also used A Scotts mix once that was shitty the ph was way high and it had lots of bark, Very shity...choke with ya'll later
