does pruning affect time until maturity? PICS

hey whats up? im on my first grow, seeds sprouted on new years day. so im about 5 1/2 weeks in. i have 4 plants right now so i wanted to prune/train each differently to see the results for myself.

the plant that i topped once and fim regularly without removing any fan leaves has already reached maturity with the alternating nodes, would you say that 5 1/2 weeks is quick for maturity?

the plants that i have been pruning were originally the two biggest, and i was sure i would see the alternating nodes on them first, and nothing.

did removing the fan leaves slow the road to maturity? the pics are of the mature plant.

Something else is slowing the maturity, not pruning, because look how think your main stem is and how small the plant sits, unless it is just the strain. Pruning stresses plants out

Let me say first off, your plant looks great . The plants fan leaves are its main energy source, I would never remove any fan leaves , Ive never pruned before, so Im not sure if its something you have to do for its small stature, but imo, removing them is never a good idea, that would cause your plants growth to slow down.

^^^^ No comment other than pruning had nothing to do with its growth, or i would have stunted plants as well and i take off ALLLLL the fanleaves.

Put it to flower, your plant is fine..

I started one of my mothers new year day also, last time I checked it was about 9-10 inches tall, nice branching too. I just trimmed fan leaves & LST'd it, it really kicked off.
I think maturity comes on its own, not stress related.

what kind of lighting do you have?

Well pruning will slow the plant a "little" specially on a small plant..maybe not so much or any on a nice size plant.

For instance if you have a plant with only 10 leaves, 4 being big fans and you cut them off...you just removed 40% of its leaves, its gonna be stressed and have to repair and such.

Now if you have a bigger plant you can see the % will be lower.

That and each plant is unique in its own right, i have plants growing of the same strain, some get huge fast....others go slow?? Just like kids in JR high....some runts some studs
