Sick Plant and sexing issues

whats up everybody? this is my first grow. my seeds sprouted on or about new years day or the day after. at first i had them under 3 flo's just until my 250W hps arrived. i have 4 plants.

my plants, and yes i know my camera is garbage.


notice the yellow streaks on a few of the fan leaves? heres a closer pic

those are all the same plant, which happens to my largest plant also.

plant 2 is probably the most healthy looking of my plants

plant 3 is "burned" on the two biggest leaves.

no noticed probs with plant 4

basically, whats causing my plants to discolor? i water them every third day using bottled water that i bought at kmart. i dont have a ph testing kit, so i dunno if that could be the source. my light is like 8 inches above the plants.

also, is it too early to tell sexing from those pictures? and if anyone has specific tips on how to fim/top these plants, let me know so i dont just do it on my own and fuck it all up. thanks!

have you fertilized at all? Or is there fertilizer in your soil?

You won't be able to tell sex until you begin to flower

and dierwolf knows a lot about FIMing.

yeah man its some miracle gro shit. i live in the city, i couldnt find any of the regular old "dirt" smh. could the miracle gro be discoloring my plants?

its the miracle grow stop using that and just use good plain water 4 awhile i gurantee a difference! miracle grow burns are precious plants! hope everything works out for u on ur first grow!

If your fertilizing on top of that miricle grow stop it, some leaves look nute burnt but could also be heat, do you have adequate ventilation for that light?

Also looking at your pictures the soil on the edges of the pot is away from the wall of the post which means the soil is bone dry...try watering it with some PH balanced water 6.2-6.8 ph.

Also i notice your training the plant but you started a little late on that which is why you have that long stem there, .... in any case swing that main branch back round over the dirt inside the pot and train it to stay over the pot for as long as you want, leave the wire where you have it now and add another wire to hold it over the pot in a different location.

fimming, you can start fimming anytime you want now, there are numerous threads on it. if you want you can top the plants now and it should show you its sex within about 3 weeks after topping it. You dont have to go into flowering to show sex, thats a bunch of hogwash....

If i had to go wait until i went into flowering with all the plants i do, i would be wasting alot of time.

first off, no i havent fert'd at all on top of the miracle gro soil. and yeah it was time for them to be watered, thats why i took the pics, so im with ya on that one. im gonna do some fimming tomorrow, ill post pics after.
