harvest help

I need a little help knowing when to harvest. everything I read tells to base the pick timing from the time that the hairs start turning orange..well my first mistake is not noting when the hairs started turning. I first noticed the hairs turning aboue 3 weeks ago and since then about ten hairs are now orange, teh rest are white...I don't have any magnifying tools to look at trichomes or anything like that so does anybody know a good method for 'eye-balling' it?

you want to wait till about 3/4 of them hairs have turned red .. if you got about 10 on the whole plant then patience is the key lol ... each day gets more and more tempting but you gotta hold out .. its always worth the wait .. then when you get used to it all you can vary the amount of redness to affect the "high" you get from the bud .. an endless learning curve ..

Thumbs up

ok well this is from my personal experiecne, its not really about the color of the hairs, its about your prefrence, because i read on overgrow that when the buds hairs are white they have the most THC, and less cannabinoids, and when they begin to turn red and orange they decrease in THC potentcy, but the number of cannabinoids grows, and cannabinoids are the other active chemicals in marijuana that give you couchlock, or make you lazy, so if you clip them early, you will have more of an 'up' high, which is my personal prefrence, high. and if you choose to wait till the hairs all change color than it will be a more 'down' feeling, stoned.

check this out it might help you make up your mind a little better

Good Luck!

HI, designatedtoker: I agree but then I also say that the Sativa/Indica dominant genes will have the effect on whether the high is up or couchlock. I have noticed myself that buds picked earlier will feel more uplifting then left longer more stoney and have read many many articles on the same subject. I understand that more CBDs are made toward then end of the maturing process so in the idea you take it early so it doesn't have a chance to form them as much...but I also back that the CBDs play a strong role and key ingredient in marijuana as much as THC.

Makes me wonder now which is better, is it personal preferrence or scientic fact?

I've also been researching hydrogen peroxide and the info I find is minimal although I see a lot of people mention it...my plant looks good and healthy although rather thin as I didn't have proper lighting for its first month or so.... so if I add any would the extra oxygen affect the buds at all?
