why is ROLA slow at sprouting

OPERATION SAVE ROLA..HELP..ahha..first time grower..long time user..germinated seed..in good soil..took 2 days for her to break soil but the seed broke through the surface first!..now the seed is slowly coming off..it is day 4 and i got 2 27W CFLs daytime on her 2 inchs away for 24 hours a day. i also have a 42W soft white CFL that has high lumen output..im not using this yet for i think it will be used to induce flowering later. It is not growing very fast was wondering if i should be doing anything else. have a little fan in the closet to help circulating..tin foil dull side out around the pot..have about 3400 lumens per square foot. only using around a square foot so far..the 2 leaves are about 1 MM off the top of the soil and growing at a really slow rate..please help and thanks..appreciate any help..

There's no reason not to use the 42W CFL now.

it is a warm light, im scared it will burn her..where should i position the tin foil above all these lights

It won't burn it, just position it a little farther away than the lower wattage lights.

You can put the foil wherever you think's best. I can't really tell you because I don't know what your grow setup is like.

the biggest problem is that the container its in is 6" tall and around 5" in diameter..the 2 27W bulbs are side by side pretty much allowing no other light to go through or around them. its hard to position them

Well, you're going to need a bigger grow box pretty soon anyway, so you might as well start looking into building or buying a bigger one, and when you do, you'll have room for more lights.

is it a possibility for u to spread the 2 27's apart and slide the 42 in the middle?

ok so in your first post (if anyone read it) you say its a soft white and then in your second post you said warm light ........so which is it? cause soft white is useless for growing

it is a soft white it goves off a warm heat..

i can spread out the spirals a bit but cant get them each 2-3 inches from the sprout.
Its at about 5 days and it is not liking the light as much as it wants to..only 1 " tall..My buddys plant grew alot better on incandescents.

im starting to think a bad seed..a runt possibly??..smallest leaves ever....
i am tempted to plant another seed i have germinating..or am i rushing it?

also the which way do i plant the tap root up or down?.

vvvvv down vvvvv give it a little time before you kill it...... the first week is the hardest for a plant cause thats their slowest production of energy cause they don't have the leaves to help w/ photosynthesis ......usually only relying on the energy stored in the seed

Yeah dude give it some time. Usually the sprout comes flying out of the ground until it has a couple tiny leaves and is about an inch tall, then it kinda stays that way for a few days.

Ok..ROLA is gone..dead gone..i killed her..i guess from to much light..dried it out..then i realized roots dont need light..so this time i germd another one and planted it 2 days ago..put it in a dark warm place 70F and this morning she popped up. now when do i start giving her light..when the 2 leaves open up or as soon as u see it come out of the ground. right now the 2 leaves are still closed but are trying to open and straighten up..

success..leaves opened and beginning to grow..have had 4 27W CFL daylight on her for 18 straight hours..

i decided to shut the lights off right now cuz it is pretty warm in the box..around 83F..is this a good idea or should i leave lights on 24/7 for the first little bit then change to 18/6..

any suggestions??..even having 4 27W CFLs in a 1.5ft x 2 ft boxed in area still doesn't seem enough. So humid in there could this cause the plant to grow slow even tho temp is 82ishF..only have 2 bladed leaves coming out of the shoot still at day 5.thanks..cheers.
