I'm new to growing and have numerous questions but I felt like this one should be answered first. As the title describes, I wanna know your oppinions on different ways of germinating seeds. I've heard to wrap them in a moist paper towel and then put that in a ziplock.. I've heard to put them in a glass of water overnight and then plant them the next morning.. If I could just get some kind of concensous here it would help me out alot.

theres a sticky by stylez...i use that every time with 100% germ rate with good seeds..

all i do is soak the seed for 24hours in a little bit of water and somewere warm ok then place them in a plastic pot with damp cotton wool under and on top of the seed and sit the pot somewere warm and uaslly withing 2days to 8ish day all my seed have opened with a little white tong then just plant them into your growing medaium . ok mate

HIGH All, I too just throw them into a jar of water and 24 to 48 hrs when their little dinks pop out into some medium...been doing it this way for a few years.

Thanks for all the responses guys.. As for the last two replies: Do you see the first sprout when they're soaking in the jar of water for a day or two.. or do they sprout after you plant them?

Wow, you can just put the seeds in a cup of water until they sprout? I'd never heard that. Sounds easy. Then just fish out each one as it pops and put it in medium? Neat, what's the success rate on that?

As for me i look to see if the seed has cracked and i can see the white,that tells me they are going to grow so i just tuck them under some wet soil or in peat pellets and in 2-4 days they will show there heads...
Its just about 99% they will grow..just dont pack soil to much and you will have no prob...good luck
