not sure i understand. they cut the plant a few inches up from the soil. so they got a big ass christmas tree to put in a cardboard christmas tree box. they then store the harvested tree in the cardboard box for 4 months. leaves and all.

Yea, they are curing the bud without cutting it off the plant. I doubt it is simply a cardboard box though.
