bubble cloner

anyone out there have any ideas for a bubble cloner into rockwool?

what i have now is a tote with holes drilled into the top and rockwool cubes are stuffed in and clones inserted (seeds also i suppose). bubble wands up and down bubbling from a good sized air pump. no humid dome. got a few clones and we will see how it works out but im looking for a better setup.

the reason i need them into rockwool is that they will be going into soil and the transplant shock is much less w/ rockwool (i would imagine). if this doesnt work out im gonna try an aero cloner but i fear that the transplant move will kill more than the rooting directly into rockwool.

i also was thinking of maybe just going directly into a medium/mister system but thought that i would give the bubbler a try.

i actually dont like what i got, constantly wet rockwool. i have a timer 30on/90off bubbler but the rock never dries. im gonna also do a plain aero cloner in the same tote/side by side and see what the success rate is to move these to soil vs rockwool. i would guess that the rockwool take rate from clone will be way lower than aero but the move would be much higher.

so as u can see i have a 1/2 inch outside dia. tubing wing rapped with tape that i can write the clone info on. 1/2 inch hole drilled and no humid dome.

lets see how this works out. its called an aero cloner.

Hi froggy....looks like your speaking to yourself there budy...lol...

i dont use rockwool my self....i dont need to....i take clones and put them into a bubbler then after rooting i put into hydro(with net pot and clay balls)or coconut coir...heres alink to where im telling phezie what i do http://forum.grasscity.com/showthrea...8&page=9&pp=15 ..

just thought id keep a sort of journal and hoping to get some imput.

everything looks mighty green and turgered still, no wilt after 5 days.

well its been over 2 weeks for the rockwool. the cuttings look turgered but im not seeing rooting nor any new uptop growth. they look as green and fresh as the day they were cut. but ive come to the conclusion that bubbleing into rockwool is a useless step.

but the other side is a diff story. 12 days into the cutting and i see roots springing out. i finally put into the system like 30 clones to see what kinda % im gonna get but im sure liking this aero cloner idea.
a few improvements would be a temp controller and a smaller tote size to make more bubbles and easier to move around and work with. i now have it all pH'ed to 6.1 ish and a water temp of 77ish. i think if everything was ready to go from the beginning, i coulda added a few days sooner for the rooting. i also took a wide range of cuttings, some big, some little, some strong, some weak, some i cut the clone off using accurate techniques and some i just clipped off the mama and shoved them into the aero-cloner, just to see what will happen...
