In bloom phase need help!
Ok i have some regular seeds that i took out of a sack of reg. anyway they are now in the last phase and i am useing a 250w hps from hortilux, everything seems to be going well except that the buds are small, its about 3 weeks into the budding and i have been giving them floramicro "hardwater" and i have also used worm castings once and i have also used fish emulsion once.
is there somthing else i can be mixing in with the water? that will make the buds get bigger? also if i leave the lights off for an extra hour, will this help or do bad? just 2 more question's, it seems as though there is allot of fan leaves on the plants, can i cut some of them off or no? is there a certain number that needs to remain on the plant? and if light comes into the room really quickly during the dark period is that ok or will it restart the process all over again? i mean it doesnt hit the plants directly, but just if i need to go in an out of the room or whatever you know? oh yea plants have been clipped to where they all have branches that grow out and up all around one big main stalk or stem whatever you guys call it. they are all healthy as well other that the fact that the buds are small. if anyone can help i would apreciate it allot thanx |

Sounds like you have a good little grow going
![]() How many plants do you have under the 250hps light? When did you switch to bud them, and from what cycle where you running before?18/6? What cycle do you have them on now? 12/12? What is your grow medium?dirt, compost, soil? What size are your pots/containers? How many plants in a pot? What is the tempature of your room? What is the humidity? How often do you water? Got a pic? Flora Micro NPK 5.0-0.0-2.0." , Get something much higher in Phosphorous. like a 10-60-10 Say you switched your plants from 18/6 to 12/12 to make the babies flower,...you should stick to the 12/12 and let them finish..rather than keep changing the cycle of light... that will make a difference in bud size. 3 weeks is not long into flowering so they won't be baseball size yet...it's in the latter part of flowering that your buds really increase in size so hang tight keep watching those babies fatten up.. I don't want to open a box here but, it's 50/50 half say cut em off half say don't cut'em off. If you cut some of the big fan/sucker leaves off you'll let more light down into the lower branches therefore letting the lower buds get more light which should increase yeild. If you leave them on the plant will use all the nutrients store in the leaves to feed and increase yeild. Thats why your leaves will turn yellow and even purple during flowering,. the bud are taking all the good stuff from the leaves and they die. Without seeing a pic I can't say weather to trim yours or not. your plants need UN-interrupted dark period, hermi's I believe are more likely to appear if interrupted regularly. |

ok let me try to begin to answer all the q/a, ok i am gonna number the answers to the questions ok
1. ok i have 3 large mommas, they are not being used in any certain method i.e. scrog, sog, or whatever. 2. i switched them when they were about 12-13 inches, now they have reached close to 32 inches, and and before the 18-6 cycle i had them on 24/7 useing 4, 40 watt floros. 3. now i do have them on 12/12 but i am wondering if i switched the process from 12/12 to 13/11 would this help the plants to increase clorophil and in turn increase the rate at which the plants flowers grow? or is this a no no? just thought because at 12 hours isnt this when clorophil reaches its critical levels? if so wouldnt leaving them off for an extra hour actualy do them good? or is this a cycle that needs to be kept strict? the reason i ask is because i was reading in one of my books by haans, and in the book there is a pic of him in one of his gardens, and you can see the timer on the wall and it is set to have an extra hour of darkness. this raises my question! 4.ok as far as grow medium these i did not expect to be that great cause reg. seeds an all, so i just used regular potting soil, i have given them that hard water crap then I picked up some fish emul. and some worm castings i put a half inch thick layer of the castings on the top of the soil in the pots, havent touched it since, then i just went the other day and got some fox far big bloom and some diamond nectar an i am gonna start them on a reg. feeding of the big bloom and i mixed the DN with the BB cause it said u can use it as a foliar spray or mix with food, that will be started today. then i figure as they show need for the BB i will keep it coming, same with the DN. 5.oh ok i have them in the 3-5 gal. pots you get em at wally world for like .99 cents, there is only one plant per pot but, a wise man once said "its not the size of the pot, but the size of the plant thats in it" and he was right, cause these suckers are huge i told you they were about 32 in. tall but i have them on an old door thats setting on a coffe table, the door is 4ft. by 2ft. and they take all the the space, they each have at least 6-8 of the branches that come out of the sides and those all extend up to about 8 inches from the top of the plant. 6. ok the temp in the room is weird cause i am in the deep south, i have a fan installed in the room where it blows out the room and the air comes in to the room via a vent i made in the floor, the fan is hanging attached to a duct that goes outsideup in the top corner of the room. the temp stays around 78-82 during the light period somtimes cooler just depends on the outside weather, the humidity stays between 30-60 % at all times now here is the weird part during the dark period somtimes it will get warmer reason is cause dark period is held during the daytime! is this bad? does the temp really matter during the dark period? so long as it dont drop more than 20? 7. they end up showing that they need water every 2-3 days somtimes sooner. so i give em correctly ph'd water unless i am mixing somthing with the water, sometimes i give them mineral water, a tip i got out of one of my books by haans, he is correct when he says "they love it, straight co2 to the roots" but i only give em the mineral water once every week or so. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwww ok yes i can give you a pic! post your email addy or pm me with it and i will send you one. i would rather not post pics though. just being extra carefull you know. oh yea some of the leaves that grow in the buds are curling down, is this natural? thanx in advance for the help man, oh yea i dont visit this site or any like it on my home computer nor do i check email, so it may take a day or two for me to get back to where i am to answer any follow up q/a |
