Growing slow?

ok let me show you guys a couple of pictures. These are of my baby, she (hopefully) is about 6 weeks old. i know she isnt large for her age, but she has been through alot, she is the only one left out of 12 plants. She is growing alot each and every day. picture ! is from 11/19/04, the second is from 11/20/04, the third is from 11/22/04 in the morning, and here is the most recent pic in the last spot.

Keep in mind that the camera has not moved and it is around 2-3" tall dont know for sure.

Any comments or help of any sort would be nice, i will check back everday to see if there are any questions posted, if not feel free to message me on AOL IM

Hi there Pork, nice little one you got goin' there . I seem to remember you are growing in a fairly large plastic container with foil on the walls of it, please do correct me if I am wrong.

My first suggestion is to do all you plants in separate pots and put them inside the container maybe as opposed to filling the whole plastic bin with dirt. Roots will not entangle with other plants, fight for space or infect each other if 1 plant has a problem. Easier to do maintenance on each plant as well for watring, soil flushing, pruning, etc. Yes I see you only have 1 but for future reference

Get rid of the foil and paint the inside of the container flat white. Diffuses light better and lights more evenly without hot spots.

Thirdly, what light and soil are you using? They both have a large effect on speed of growth. Metal Halide are best for vegging but fluorescent (compact or tube) are sufficient, what most folks here use for veg I think. High Pressure Sodium are best for flowering but fluoros can work for that as well, just not as effectively (decrease yield/size).

Use a high quality pro soil mix with NO time release fertilizers. Ones with lime or limestone (helps control pH), sphagnum peat moss, a wetting agent and perlite or vermiculite (soil aeration) are good.

Looks like a good start though mate, just suggestions for you. Keep up the grow and look forward to seeing what lights soil you got goin'

Gg

well the place jsut got full. I now have a huge collection of plants starting, my friend gave me the seeds. Dont know what strain so dont ask. But he gave them to me and told me when they are growing he will take half of them. I hope he sitn kidding, Because i could grow them all by myself, but that would be alot of work for one man. Could get my wife to help me or hire someone to watch after them... anyways back to reality.

I have all of these babies in here, and i will now start setting up my closet now that i know almost 75% will take, out of those who knows how many boys/girls. But i will be setting up a shelves in my closet. I will have 48" floros on them. and they will have cool white bulbs. Now when they start to get bigger, i will move the shelves further apart, and end up setting up another one on the oposit side. That will allow me to start, and veg, and flower al in my closet. Which i will have ways to keep the light out of the flowering ones when that time comes. So the grow room will be a work in progress for probably about 2 months.

BTW the plant was over watered, my wife wanted to water it everyday and insisted on it. well she isnt good with plants, so i had to tell her not to water it i will do it.

Anyways heres pics of what the freakin box looks llike for now, until i can move my babies into different boxes. Wont be too hard but i gotta go out and buy supplies for them.
