That is one of those arguments that people will come to both sides for. I don't think you will find a definitive answer for that. As far as the whole extra light cycle that's not a good idea. You can stop a plant in flower and revert it back to vegging, I've never tried it. They even make a product specifically for that, it is supposed to stop flowering and recvert the plant. i would expect some mild results similar to that. the extra dark time does not add to the size of your buds, and your will not see growth really. it is more about pushing your plant a bit further, after the point that you know your plant's trich's will start to degrade from any more light exposure.

Are you saying 3 days of light or of dark? 3 days of light will do nothing at all, plants "eat" in dark cycle, collects food in light cycle, so growth will be minimal. 3 days of dark would be better but still not much, just do a normal harvest, if you want to play with light cycles do 3 days total dark at beginning of flower to speed up process, or carefully tune into a strains light desires (this may take 2-3 harvests).

I have read a few posts concerning dark before flower but they only say do 24 hours to reset the plants internal clock. I think 3 days of total dark would stress the plant way to much and could cause hermaphroditism as the plant could be freaked right out and think its missed most of the fall.

Just got some bud from a friend that was supposed to be WW. Apparently they had it in dark for over a week, I have no idea why, but it looks really strange. It's very fluffly, and it looks like it's very stretched out. An eighth looked more like a quarter, and the high, though strong, is very shortlived.
