switching my light on and off: problem

ok i switched my plant to 12/12 a couple days ago and it's been going well, but tonight I have a problem. usually I turn it off at 8PM and on at 8AM (right before going to school), but tonight I'll be at a buddies house from about 4PM to maybe like noon the next day. So what do I do? I could either turn it off right when I leave and it would have like a 20 hour darkness period (i'm assuming that's pretty bad) or I just leave it on all day, but I'm assuming that's not too great either cause it might try to go back into vegetating?

i know a timer would solve everything but i don't have one right now

thanks

Re: switching my light on and off: problem

i went to fucking staples and looked for a cheap timer, and of course they only have one that's like $20. so i bought it and it didn't even fuckin work, i brought it home and it just wouldn't even turn on once.

so that would've been perfect because I had just enough time to come home, set it, and then leave for my friends house, but that shit ass timer didn't even work so I guess i'm just leaving the light on all night.

You are much better to give your plants extra extended dark than light during the flower period.

And I'll jump on the bandwagon...go to Home Depot, Ace, Lowe's, Wally World, Target, etc for a timer. Staples would not be on my list of places to look.

Re: switching my light on and off: problem

I think I'm too late, but for future reference, once you've gone 12/12 it's always better to give them more darkness than light. Too much darkness won't hurt your plant (unless it's more than a few days) but too much light will definitely hurt it.

This.

Nobody gave you an answer they just scolded you

Anywho, whats important is that you learn from your mistakes. Now go out and buy yourself a decent timer. I myself own 2, a digital one and a manual one. Manual one for when the digital one runs out of battery juice, which is never; it did only cost me 4 bucks at the thrift store
