need reccommendation from experienced grower

Hey gc growers, I just got a secret jardin tent and needed recommendations on fans(exhaust and intake). I already have this fan Personal Fan by Holmes - HANF76BLZ07-UC and would like to save money by using it but i'm willing to buy two new fans if deemed necessary. I plan on growing between 2 to 4 plants in there. here are some pics of the tent if ur not familiar. Also if someone could mention a carbon filter to go along with the fans that would be great. Thanks in advance.

get your lights up and run a test cycle this will tell you where to start. report back

test cycle? As in test a grow? I have a 4 dAylight cfl's (2 26wt 2 42wt)Really just wanted to get the fans that are somewhere near what I need with the given environment and startup with these ny diesel fem seeds.

Hi, your tent looks the same size as mine, depending on what lights you intend on using throughout the grow and what strain you are going to grow, some do stink right through the grow not just flowering. If you can deal with the smell and the issues this can cause then you could do what i did and just open the vents at the bottom and have a fan blowing the hot air out of one of the ducts at the top. Have a look at my last grow there are some pics there.

test cycle as in turn on your light s for a cycle see what the temps are. if you are using cfl's you shouldnt need much. one of my rooms is of similar size and all i have is a 14dollar home depot exhaust fan ans a small fan inside room to blow tops of my babies

thanks for da info nice el nino by the way.. but yea couldn't go with opening the vents because I stay in a rented apartment as does the landlord he doesn't mind me smokin(outside) and he wouldn't care if i was growing as long as it doesnt smell dank in the house.

I use a 4" inline duct booster for exhausting my small tent. I bought it from home depot, cut the end from a shop cord and wired it up. I attached (3) 90 degree pvc elbows (4" with insides painted black) and formed them into a coil so no light would get in. Works great and is relatively silent.

appreciate it choch but Im not too handy and the only tool at my disposal is a phillips screwdriver so if u or anyone else for that matter could help with another idea.... at this point it's lookin like I'll have to improvise and just see what I can do.... I shall be starting a grow journal within the next week and a half so keep a lookuout for NYPD tent grow, time to roll up this bubba kush!!

Va, don't sell yourself short, the tutorials on utube are awesome, anyone can do it, for real. Lots of $$ can be saved by making stuff yourself in this game and of course, we are right here if you need help.

Luckily, if you really aren't into it, there are tons of choices for you out there depending on budget. Being that you are in a tent and odor is a main concern, I suggest that you look into a set that goes from an air cooled light to a can fan (start at about $90, the $99 400 cfm one will be fine in there) to a good scrubber (look up "active air" products for pics of that stuff).

My main point here is don't skimp on circulation. Moving the air in a tent is key

good informative and motivational post lbh. My budget is more than plentiful(even after buying grow tent and the cfl's/ballast) but still would like to see those vids u were talking about. Post some links and also if you could post some links to the other (high quality regardless of price)products you mentioned it would be HIGHLY APPRECIATED

A man with a real budget, what a relief. In this industry, you get what you pay for. My local shop is a hydrofarm retailer so I get all my stuff through them. Check them out, everything is catagorized and easy to find.

Well, if you have the money (and we aren't talking alot) then you could just buy one and not bother with the mess.

fans- Active Air In-Line Fans

HTG supply is awesome but finding their stuff can be a pain in the ass. Below is an ebay listing (lots of their stuff their) that you won't be able to find on their site. What i did was emailed them with the listing and conducted that sale through the site, avoiding ebay altogether. (saved a couple more bucks)

This would be an example of a good air cooled light.

filters and filter/fan combos

High Tech Garden Supply You don't need a huge filter, but buy a good one. btw- these need to be replaced or recharged in time. Same goes for bulbs in the lights.
