Homemade CPU Growbow Questions

Ok, so i consider myself a veteran pot smoker, but when it comes to growing the stuff, i just know how to grow regular plants the regular way, in the ground outside. However, because of legal reasons, and the fact that im a college student, this isnt possible for me with my favorite herb. So, i have decided to use an old CPU that was laying around as a growbox. My first question is: How do i pot the plant(s) in a rectangular space measuring 17"x16"x6.5" ? I plan on using organic soil and two CFL's for lighting. Any tips at all would be helpful!

Well, I did the same thing, except my tower was bigger (24inches).. You won't have much of a yiel at 17Inch and 2 CFLs..

nice setup! yeah, i have some financial constraits because college takes a ton of money, so i decided that LEDs arent the way to go, and im growing for personal useage only, so CFLs should do the trick as far as yield. im only planning on one or two plants, depending on how many of my seeds actually germinate. Any info is welcome, urgent info needed on how to pot the growing plants with the limited space available

Ey, i always wanted to make a comp stealth box but dont have one laying around. I got a bigger box though so ill try n help you with whatever you need, just keep posting.

I say the cfls are good, probably dont want to exceed 2 small plants. Start your seeds 24/7 in those little black grow trays if you can so they fill out, then transplant to party cups later. This will really help retain space for your babies. Plus you can keep the lights mounted on the top, and place books or something under your cups to jack them up toward the light. With cfls they can be within 1 inch of the lights so you wont worry about burn, the further they are the more stretched they will get. Personally i dont like seeds anymore, cloning is the only way to go, but you gotta start somewhere. so once you know you have a female i recommend keeping your box going w/ clones. Once you have a female though you could also look into the scrog method, that way you only have to maintain 1 single plant, and you can get the LARGEST quantity out of it.

Yeah everything undercover said, Also if you can afford 4$ at wal mart try to get a bag of phosphorus bone meal. its meant for substantial root strength and growth. More roots, More nutrients equals more buds. it can effect the nitrogen levels in your soil so dont use more than a light coating over where you think the roots are once every 1-2 weeks. but that will make a HUGE difference, i did it with my last dirt grow and i got some nice yields.. thanks for the good advice both of ya. as far as the little black trays go, whens a good time to transplant the growing plant from thost trays to the cups? and how soon should i start adding nutes, and how much? Currently, my seeds have just began to put out roots, still germinating. how many watts of light should i use for two plants, and how big should i let them get before starting the budding process? BIG QUESTION: how is a plant that can get taller than 6 feet fit into less than a foot n a half of space?

Read the sticky fourm for LST (Low Stress Training) This will help you use every bit of space that is avaliable in your little box

You can make a plant watever size you'd like it to be. Of course the smaller the less bud, BUT, there are methods such as lst (low stress training) and scrog, google image "scrog" and you will get great ideas of how to manage space, im going to be getting rid of 15 plants in place of 1 due to this method.

Keep your plants on 24/7 or 18/6 until they are a couple inches, then transplant to cups and feed high nitrogen veg food once every 3-5 days, wait till they start growing/root in the cups then throw into 12/12, but like i said, SCROG, research. Google images are easier than this site . As for lighting, im using 2 of those shitty 40 watt fluro tubes and its keeping 13, 1/2 ft plants alive, 3 small clones and 4 seedlings, so any amount of lighting , really fluros, will do great. Keep well ventilation though, as someone told me, anything boxed/closed in will die. Good luck

hey just saw your post. to answer your question: from my experience and knowledge of pc case grows you can yeild anywhere between 5g-1/2oz all depending on your technique. its one of the most important thimgs you need under your belt when growing anywhere thats small. for your space you can most probably rig up a metal screen to create a scrog affect, but the most common technique is LST. dont worry if you dont get a great yeild your first try. dont let that demotivate you.growing marijuana should be fun.
