Finished My First Grow Box

Oh man, so I just finished constructing my first stealth grow cabinet. Took me 2 weeks to complete this thing. I basically gutted out the whole dresser and kept only the top, bottom, sides and door. I'm still not done. I just have to finish the lighting and ventilation as soon as the rest of my stuff comes in. The internal dimensions are 16" x 31" x 46". Pictures are attached to this thread.

List of Equipment:

- Stealth Grow Cabinet
- Pemko Fire & Smoke Siliconseal HSS2000xS88 24'
- 1 Leter Measuring Container
- 10.5x21x4.5 Inch Propagation Humidome
- 6 Inch Stainless Steel Duct Clamps
- Bluelab Combo pH-EC-TDS Meter
- Lumatek 250W 120V HPS/MH Electronic Ballast
- Smart Pot 5-Gal Soft Growing Container
- 3.5 Gallon Black Plastic Bucket
- Ecoplus 120V 15 Amp On-Off Digital Dual Timer
- Hydrofarm Commercial T5 2FT 4 Tube Fixture w/lights
- NGW 10" X 20" X 7" Tall Propagation Dome with Vents
- Super Sprouter Heat Mat - 10" X 20.75"
- Rapitest Mini Moister Tester Model 1810
- Rapitest Mini pH Tester
- CoolTube 6" Reflector
- Spray Bottles
- 30X Lighted Microscope
- Can Fan RS 6 270CFM
- Air King 6" Clip on Fans
- GE 51136 Outdoor Outlet Receiver with Keychain Remote

List of Supplies:
- General Hydroponics Rapid Rooter 50 Cell Tray + Organic Plugs
- pH Down Adjusting Solution Gallon
- pH Up Adjusting Solution Gallon
- Eye 250W 6500K Full Spectrum Universal Metal Halide bulb
- Hortilux 250W Super HPS Mogul Base Grow Bulb
- Mylar 2 mil x 4' x 50' Reflective Film
- SUPERthrive Vitamin-Hormone Supplement 4oz
- Fox Farm Ocean Forest organic potting soil 1.5 cu. ft.
- Surgical Disposable Scapel
- GrowBright Pure Flow 6 Carbon Filter
- Twist Clips
- Aluminum Foil Duct Tape 50 Yd
- Perlite 8 Qt
- SunLeaves Black & White Poly 10 x 10
- Fox Farm Nutrient Trio
- SunLeaves Square Root Pot 4" 12/pack
- Plastic Plant Label 5" Pack of 100

Originally I considered buying a pre-made stealth cabinet. I decided against this because none of the resellers seemed reputable. Plus by making it myself I can completely customized it to my liking. My Budget on this was about $1500.

What do you guys think?

I'll start my grow as soon as I move into my new place. I took the opportunity to build everything at my current place so I wouldn't arouse suspicion by making noise in my new room.

Re: Finished My First Grow Box

If that shelf across the bottom section is full sized, it's going to retard air flow from the bottom of the cabinet out the top....have you made provisions for that? Other than that, nice job on the box!

That shelf is removable. I was thinking of using the bottom for vegging/seedlings w/ CFL and the top for late vegging/flowering with MH/HPS. I just have to find some material that's light proof but still allows air to pass through. Any ideas? And yes I know that the two chambers have to be lightproof from each other.

and honestly, i think thats a pretty sweet set-up. just as previously mentioned, make sure your air flow from top to bottom wont be contricted because of the lower shelf. my the way your thinking could work, and work well. if you live in a legallized area, try buying clones and vegging them on the lower level and flower up top. maybe even hav your own mother plant somewhere else(maybe bonsi style, good sticky in advanced growing) and do the clones form the mother in the bottom, flower uptop. but again, nice setup! doesnt looked hacked up, looks like time thought and care went into it. Good luck

Holy shit man that cabinet is freaking awesome. Have you tested how hot it gets in there with all the wattage you've got going?

Heh, I'm getting the mylar and lights today along with the ballast. By tomorrow I should have everything in.

For strains I've gotten from the Ministry of Cannabis:

Feminized Carnival, White Widow, and Kandahar for starters. I'll post some pictures of more work once I get home.

Yeah man thanks for props! I put a lot of time into this thing. When ever I do a project I like to do it "right" so I don't have to pay for it later. At first I wanted to use the back panel as a door but I opted out because it would be difficult to mount everything. I knew it would be difficult to turn the front into a door but it's worked out very nicely and the fire proof sealing works like a charm.

I've been smoking for 4 years now. At first it was recreational but I noticed it helped with my Crohn's ESPECIALLY during flare ups. Without weed I would not be able to keep my weight up, and it completely eliminates nausea. Much better then other antiemetics my doctors have prescribed. The reason I started this, I got tired of the quality of what I get around campus plus the frat dealers are complete douches. And don't worry I'm growing this in my soon future apartment

Thanks for all the help/info guys!
