I use Superthrive and it helps a lot the root growth is so much better, and it seems that my plant doesnt get as stressed from the stupid mistakes Ive done like with the plant im growing right now is beautiful and you wouldnt even know that when it was a shorter fellow a fan dropped right on top of it but in 2 days it was up right again and growing strong. I have a Female as well so it didnt stress it into becoming a male or a hermie like the previous comment though you dont need it to grow but it sure does help
