Plug in pot (for adjusting fan)

Anyone here know of or use an AC potentiometer (yes they are called pots)? I'm looking for an AC one that would plug right in. I've got an exhaust fan that i'd like to be able to adjust. I'd be grateful for any input; thanks ya'll.

Yeah man I have heard of one. Radio shack carried one, not sure if they still do. But one word of caution, on some of my fans it would work, but on others it would not. I don't have an electrical background so I don't know why this is but trust me it is. I do have an antique fan collection though and it's killer for the old Emerson fans. Good luck and save your receipt mang. V
