Ed, i presume you have your ventilation and fans on all time while drying. A light breeze from an oscillating fan is all thats needed to prevent mold, and ventilate the drying room replacing the air 4 or 5 times per day.
If you've went a bit too far with your drying (when your bud is crispy and crumbles), you can rehydrate the bud while curing, by adding bud that isn't fully dry. Just make sure to let the jar pop and breath a few times per day, until dry.
I havent done this, but i've heard of growers adding citric fruit to the curing jar for aroma.

Re: need some expert advice

WHAT?

You put one juicy bud in a jar with dry bud's, and it will moisten up the other dry buds. And if you had fan's that could be your problem. It should be a natural air dry.

Re: need some expert advice

No u should have air circulation in ur drying box. Not directly blowing on the buds but circulation is good for the buds
thanks guys

I'm aware of that, but A fan directly on the bud, is not a natural dry.

Re: need some expert advice

There's nothing natural about growing bud indoors either. But you definately need a little air circulating while drying your bud.

?????

There is nothing natural about growing bud indoors? We aren't talking about growing bud indoors. We are talking about drying marijuana. And when you dry Marijuana, if you rush the "natural" drying process you are going to have a harsher smoke. By natural dry I mean, letting the moisture dry out naturally without wind blowing on the Bud, rushing the drying process.

Re: need some expert advice

and yes of course air circulation is needed. Which means don't lock up your drying plants in a closet. An open door, or letting the air out of the room a few times a day is enough air circulation to dry Marijuana. Pointing fans at the bud is rushing

done both ...both work just fine ....but let the citrus peel sit out, and dry a bit, or the buds will stick to it and mold

other then that ..Your envoirment may not be the same as many giving advice...so be willing to experiment a little ( case in point MG soil) .. yes tossing your buds into cure a touch early "should" make for a "softer cure"...but be viigilant if you feel liek they are gathering moisture ...leave those lids open for a day, then resume curing.

it does get easier as time goes ..and you get set into a pattern

peace

We did this all the time when I was younger. We would add an orange peel to the bag but it wasn't for taste, it was to help it hold moisture., so the weed didn't dry out. If you whiff the weed, you'll smell it but I personally could never taste it. I'll admit, I don't have a very talented pallet but still, it wasn't anything overwhelming, that's for sure.

Good luck fine tuning your procedure.
