CO2 and WATER CURING??

Ok i got 2 questions. Numero uno, i don't meen to ask a question that gets asked alot but how much do you guys think an external CO2 system can add to my garden. I searched the word "CO2" and couldnt find any good threads that had the word in the title. I would obviously like to get a system thats cheap as possible. Im familiar with the little co2 cartriages that go in bb guns but would else would i have to get to power those cartriages. Im currently on my 16th day of the 12/12 cycle and im growing white widow under a 1000 HPS lamp. I have 8 plants and i believe im growing using the "tree" method. I have 1 inline exhaust fan and mylar on the walls. The nutes im currently using are "bloom" and "vigor" Is it too late to add CO2? Whats a rough estimate of the increase in yield per plant as opposed to not using it?

Another question is about water curing. When im harvesting my girls and cut them off I heard water curing will get rid of alot of bad stuff in the finished product, aswell as making it smoother. The thing is the thought of taking every bud i have and putting them under water scares me! How risky do you think it is to water cure and should I be worried about doing it for my first harvest? As always any advice is appreciated and below is a new pic of my white widow on its 17th day of a 12/12 lighting schedule...Thanks guys!!

CO2 Enrichment

Water Curing

Although i wouldn't recommend a water cure. A good flush for the last 7-14 days will do just fine

Re: CO2 and WATER CURING??

It's never too to late to add co2. To get started, the basic equipment you will need is a 20# co2 tank and a regulator system with a solenoid and timer. To really do it right however, you should add a co2 controller for precise saturation.

Co2 needs to be at 1500-1600ppm million for optimum benefits. You can use the basic system and use a formula to saturate the room and keep the levels up with a timer that has 15 minute increments, With a controller, the controller turns on and off the supply to keep the ppm in the zone you select.

A tank is about 150 bucks new.......I jjust bought 2 used ones on Craigslist for $150. A decent regulator/solenoid/timer system retails at the hydro stores for around $150. You can find a reg on ebay for about $125. (I'll post a link). The big expense is the controller. They can run from around $350 to $1000. Rumpleforeskin (bubblebucket/co2 guru) Recommended the Sentinel CHHC-1, which is the one I just purchased. They're $750.00 at the hydro stores but mine was $509 on ebay.

This unit will also control your heat, humidity and cooling, which is a good way to control the rooms overall environmental conditions.

If you elect to go with co2......use the tank or a co2 generator.......don't go with the DIY generators that use sugar/yeast. It won't get the proper saturation levels.

The tanks cost about 16 to 24 dollars each fill up......in my space, i need to fill up every 18-20 days. Different cubic footage rooms use it at different rates. Your ventilation plays a role in the usage also. The Sentinel unit can shut off the co2 when the fans come on to conserve.

It definitely is worth the money....it will pay you back in the first grow. If you have any detailed or technical questions.....Rump is your man...he's been super helpful to me and countless others.

About water curing.......I know nothing.

Re: CO2 and WATER CURING??

So you didn't mention is your grow area completely air tight. Cause if its not you will waste tons of money for little to no reason. Co2 is great if you have a controlled environment. Second water curing is great. I wouldn't recommend doing the whole crop just a oz to get you through. Make sure you change it and use cool water. It will have no smell and no taste but the high will be there. GL

Re: CO2 and WATER CURING??

OK so if the controller is the most expensive part but isnt 100 percent neccessary is it even worth it to do without a controller? From the info you gave me the least im gonna spend with a controller is like $800 which i dont have to spend on CO2. Me and my buddy have a 50/50 arrangement with the agreement being I use his place and he maintains are crops and I pay for EVERYTHING! So far with room construction and materials, potting soil and pots, seeds, various nutes, mylar, 1000 hps, inline exhaust fan, and various other little things here and there my investment has run about $1100! I really cant spend another 700-1000 for awhile so is it worth it to get the setup without a controller?

Re: CO2 and WATER CURING??

i watercured about a 1/2 ounce from the grow i just harvested and it will be done one sunday but i harvested a 1/8 a week early and water curing really makes for smooth smoke and i get just as stoned as the stuff i have drying. water curing is good i dont think there is anything to worry about. give it a try on part of your crop so you have something to smoke a week after harvest. i tihnk water curing is going to catch on more and more.
