Fungus gnats *UPDATED*

Hi,
I have just noticed that i have fungus gnats in my pc grow. The seedlings that i am growing are 3 days old and 1 1/4" tall. I am growing in biobizz all mix soil. Are fungus gnats a big problem for growing or can i just leave them? Atm i am planning to put a 1" layer of coco coir on top of the soil as a friend said they wouldnt be able to travel through it and it would cut them up, is this correct? Also, i am going to dry the top 2" of soil before i add the coco. I have one of those yellow sticky fly traps hanging up aswell.

Re: Fungus gnats *UPDATED*

Get some neem oil and feed in just water (ph balanced) and dish soap (emulsifier). The stuff stinks, but the bugs will skip town.

Re: Fungus gnats *UPDATED*

Fungus gnats usually appear when the soil is allowed to stay too wet. Let the soil dry out and extra day or two between waterings and they will go away.

Neem oil and sticky traps work best imo.
