Autoflowering/lowryder question

I recently got some lowryder seeds and had a couple questions before i began. this will be my second grow.

Since its autoflowering, you do not have to change the lighting schedule at all...18-24 hours every day until harvest(2months). So what temp of lights would be best? 6500k? or 2700k?

Also was wondering if topping is still necessary?

Re: Autoflowering/lowryder question

I grew a couple lowriders in a small cabinet. I used 6 2700k and 2 6500k. The yield was low but the quality was solid, not great, but solid. Basically what I am saying is use both spectrums, heavier on the flowering

Re: Autoflowering/lowryder question

Well. if your growing autoflowers i suggest HID lights for sure. 6500k is good for about two weeks by itself but once the flowering begins you need to create a light ratio of somewhere around 3:1 (like ChochMachio did) between the 2700k and the 6500k (more orange light = good).

Hey chochmachio and Gbot you might also want to try getting a UVB CFL, I have read some good things about these and watched a very interesting video about trichs forming more abundandly to fend off the UVB / UVA rays.

Re: Autoflowering/lowryder question

yeah sure. or maybe even replace four of them. shouldn't make too big of a difference but i've never tried a 3:2 ratio, only ever heard of 3:1 if you don't replace them all with 2700k that is (thats what most ppl do) so don't know. let us know how it works out.
