Worm and Soil ?'s!

Hope this is in the right section. I haven't started my grow yet but I have everything except soil. I know everyone says to use FFOF ( no hydro store near here, and to exp online.) And that I also shouldn't use MG, so I'm just waiting till I can find a good organic soil. Ill hit up the plant nerseries this weekend and see what I can find.

Anyway heres my question I was curious if this would work, just for the record Im sorry if this is a stupid question but Im very new to growing. Here it goes I was wondering if I got one of those big rubbermaid tubs drilled holes in the bottom for water to escpae and holes on the side so there could be an airflow. Could I then add the soil I find to it plus compost (my mom has alot of that) and then add the worms to it and keep adding compost to it and let them go to town?

Then when it was time to start up a new plant (only growing one at a time.) take some of that, add perlite, peatmoss, and more of the soil (one from a new bag) and then use that for my medium?

I hope that this isnt a stupid question and that it makes sense. Thanks for the help to guys, really appreciate it.
