Yeah a weed is just a plant that you dont like. Weeds like crabgrass and dandelions are "weeds" because a) they have no use, and b) they're resilient, therefore hard to get rid of. Cannabis is a hardy PLANT, and very resilient. if we didn't like it so much it would certainly be a "weed".

As for derogatory, weed is actually my favorite term. I don't feel like I'm calling the plant itself a weed, its just a nickname. I think pot is the most derogatory. i don't know why, it just seems to have condescending connotations (Alliteration!). And marijuana is a kind of racist term. But aaannnyways this is all a little off track. Read the title, and then read the last post you made.

Thanks for that link Wharfrat I was trying to find somebody else on here with pics of something similar and was unable to before I made my post. Anyways I never knew the term "marijuana" could have a negative connotation so I guess I have learned something new from the temporary tangent. I think the little girl is growing vertically more than foliar right now. The soil I'm using is FFOceanForest that I flushed before sowing the seeds to ensure they didn't get fert burn as seedlings. There was some extra perlite thrown in and the only other thing was one watering with superthrive yesterday as the cups were pretty light. The first pic shows its increase in height. Yesterday the leaves were practically on top of the soil. The second pic is of its' sibling today, it already has its first set of new growth coming out, barely noticeable in the pic. And speaking of odd growing plants the third is another sprout I have from some different seeds that for some reason the first set of ridged leaves emerged kind or round with miniscule white little hairs on their tips (if you look closely you can see them in the pic). Anybody know what may have caused this and if it is okay?

all I can tell you is that unfortunately, there is no increase in yield for having 3 stems per node.

I have also heard that it you top it, it may start growing normally

the way I understand it

Polyploidy is controlled by genetics,

While whorled phylotaxy is created by Auxin, a hormone your plant uses to regulate growth, what makes topping and all the other training methods work

that does look like how my plant started out. im going to update my thread tonight with pics as i dont have time now and the lights just went off.

All i can say is i would either ScrOG it but dont top it. or i would start lsting it as it produces so many stems. get very bushy very fast. lemme know if you want any info on how my plant has done thus far.

lookin good. im deff tuned in as i want to see what it does. im so interested in these plants like this now. i want to breed it into a good femal if possible but thats just wishfull thinking atm

Okay guys this little girl is hangin' in there for sure! I think this will end up being a healthy plant. The superthrive really seems to help. I am thinkin about throwing her in the flower box so that she will "pick her sex" quicker. I don't know if I believe it but some say that if you put seedlings into flower as soon as they sprout they have a tendency to become female, like 80%. My roommate did it with 6 seedlings and they turned out female. Since I know these triploids tend to be male I think I will give it a shot. I am going to wait until Friday to make up my mind, then I will be able to give her a dedicated light, since I am using CFls. I will post some more pics soon, still waiting for that new growth to show but she is getting bigger leaves and much taller.

That's new to me, sounds interesting though. I know that there is a lot about plant sex that we still do not know, I wonder if any of the more experienced growers can comment on this. I am skeptical though, I have heard that sex is pre-determined(aside from hermies, though the tendency to become one is).

yes im really skeptical on this topic myself. it seems illogical but triploids need all the luck they can get, because I have read from many different sources since I got this one that they tend to be male. So earlier I put her in the flower box. She is soon to go into her first night, because I have my veg box on 24/0. She seems to be thriving more these last 2 days shooting up in height. I'm debating on when to start her on some FFGrowBig, after 1 week or 2...

not sure what you should do on the growbig. i just updated my plant if you want to check it out. it is getting huge for what im growing it in. i would suggest if you keep growing it to lst it or scrog it. these plants are perfect for scrog as they branch 50% more than a regular plant. mine got so bushy so fast. i was in shock.
