LumiGrow ES 330w LED Test

i will be starting my second round with the LumiGrow. this time i will be testing the LumiGrow ES 330w LED. lots of changes have been made to the new unit. they have tweaked their constant current drivers to put out more light. they have upped the reds (brightest in the industry), beefed up the blues (almost UV), and added some whites for a more fuller spectrum while making it easy on the eyes. the white really helps the colors to pop. the wattage has been raised to 330w. lets peep some pics of this new not yet released unit.

the ES covers 450nm all the way through to 700nm.

it is going to be unveiled at the expo in SF on the 25th and 26th. LumiGrow will be offering an upgrade package for customers who have the Standard model. the cost for an upgrade will be between $400-$500 dollars. price on the ES will be the same as the Standard. heh, i sound like a fucking sales person.

the wattage is higher because of the extra brightness. this unit is 2x brighter than the Standard, no joke. they unleashed the full potential of their constant current drivers, they were just holding back with the Standard. also the fan is working harder, so it all adds up in increased wattage. this unit does run a little warmer, but thats expected with higher wattage. check out these fucking heat sinks that they use. this is the Standard board.

Ooo, subscribed. I got a letter from Lumigrow about this product just recently. I had expressed interest in their 250W light. I assume the "white" LEDs are there to add UVA, UVB & far red to the light spectrum? I know that those colors show up as white on LEDs. Correct me if I'm wrong.

OshKosh, Definitely going to check out that link to your Lumigrow test grow - thanks in advance for the info. By the way, not to hijack but, how much do you supplement with UVB? What types of bulbs do you use and how do you position them - I want to supplement - but I'm in the dark with regards to the details and making it work. I think you got the right idea for the best, maximized garden - HPS + UVB + the supplementation of the spectrum of red & blue LEDs = the very best results achievable, IMHO - do let us know when you get that all set up, a lot of people would be very interested.

the whites have nothing to do with UV. the blues carry the UV. the whites are mainly to balance everything out color wise.

im tellin you, just peep the thread. my visit out to the facility was off the hook. my new room is just getting done. im throwing up all my equipment at the moment. the 330w LumiGrow ES Test will be under way shortly.

White leds have peaks in both Red and Blue wavelengths.

"warm" white leds (5w) Have an output Intencity in the red band (600-700nm) equal to the normal output of mono color Led of lower wattage (1w reds)

The claim that the "New blue Leds have range close to UV" is pure marketting hype. All mono color Leds have a tight bandwidth, usually 40-50 nm around the a peak at a specific wavelength (420nm for standard blue)
UV wavelengths are from 50 to 400nm, so any blue LED could claim to producing UVA (320-400), becuase they're technically in that range.

Im deffientyl keen to see how your grow gos mat, so dont forget those pictures as often as possible

I've been researching LEDs for a while now and just stumbled upon all of the threads that talk about them in grasscity, theres no better site to find info on using LEDs to grow indoors.
