First grow. will plants survive without a caretaker under 24/7 light for two weeks?

Will vegging plants survive without a caretaker under 24/7 light for two weeks?

Bassically for my first grow ive decided to grow one Chocolope satvia (DNA genetics / chocolate thai x cannalopehaze) and one Dinafem roadrunner autoflowering. both feminised. im planning to veg them both for about 3 or 4 weeks maybe a bit longer so i can get some real growth after ive tied them down.

i have a small basement cuboard for this which im planning to use for veg and flower, im thinking two or three softlight 2700k bulbs and one 6500k daylight bulb and then adding 400w HPS when its time to flower.

the problem is im planning to plant the seeds this weekend but im not going to be around for the second and third week of vegging, but hopefully i shud have repotted them by the time i need to leave.

will this mean i wont get time to top or LST the plants propperly?

also is there a way i can leave the lights on for the whole period im gone in the safe knowledge that my plants arnt going to stretch into the light and burn? also what precautions will i have to take to make sure they survive those two weeks in terms of watering, nutes and environment conditions i.e. humidity and temp?

as im in the basement its cool anyway so im not sure how much overheating will occur and then vetilation is not too much of an issue either depending on how much they smell while vegging.

bassically is there any safe way i can leave the plants under the lights for two weeks without me being there?

hopefully i shud have some pics up next week of the set up, and seeing as im a newb anysort of help would be great! as i have no idea which soils to use for vegging or flowering!

Re: First grow. will plants survive without a caretaker under 24/7 light for two week

I don't want to sound curt but no, I do not think they will make it with no outside intervention, barring some drip system and even with that I dunno how you keep the lamp high enough to keep them from either stretching like hell or growing into the bulb. CFLs will be good as far as heat, but they have to be kept so close and require almost constant adjustment in my opinion.

Is there any way that you can just wait till you get back to start the beans. If you have already germmed them and have no one that you can trust to water and move lights (the only mandatory things) then you my friend have exhausted my rather limited knowledge base. Perhaps someone with more experience has a magic cryogenic veg chamber DIY sticky that I missed.

Be a shame to burn up some good genetics on a holiday....

Good luck and stay green.^^
