INSECT INFESTATION! So many different insect i dont know how to identify or kill them

Alright i just build my new grow room last night its 8ft tall 8ft long and 4ft wide.....i went in the today and i can hear all the bugs hitting the sides of the room and light and my hood.............i got to looking in my cups and theres about 4 different types of insects in the cups and about 20 different types flying around the light..........

is there an all around insect killer i can use to get rid of these???? Malathion or seven dust or even both??? Im new at insect infestations...

I'm no expert but I would say go buy some fox farm "don't bug me" that's works great...

alright so i just put a mixture of alot of stuff around my room (not directly on the plants)

i sprayed ortho insect killer all along the walls of my room and then i used a bottle of sevin dust you actually hook up to a garden hose and i just sprayed it all around the rooom and then i dusted the wet walls with sevin dust and another Dust insect killer and then i poured a little mixture of malithion around the room

yes i think i went a little overboard too but i just wanted to make sure i got every insect haha

I use Neem on my stuff and I even use it like a cleaner. Every few days, I will move out all my plants, spray neem on the floor and about halfway up the walls and wipe it with a paper towel. Treat your growroom like an operating room...

you should go to home depot and get a hotshot no pest strip i had some knats in my room and this cured that problem and they never came back.one strip will last for about 4 month so just put one in the cornor of ur cabinet and u should be set..word of advice if u do get one do not open it by ur face because it smells pretty strong when u just open it and will make u dizzy trust me i kno lol..

yes... in one night haha...todays the third day and i found a jumping spider web across my grow light haha ive found one larva of some sort actually on my one of my seedlings....it looked like a itty bitty catepillar haha......ive also seen a moth or 2....a stink bug and a potato bug(looks like stink bug but its brown) and i saw a what i believe to be a fungus gnat? maybe it was one of those uncordinated long legged flying bugs......


i think all this pretty much how to do with the light being on in the middle of the night (thats when their the worst) and the fact im out in the so called country (middle of nowhere lol)

This thread rocks... it sounds like you have a lot of bugs!

Most of the bugs you mentioned probably won't harm the plants. I can't say for sure, but you will be able to tell simply by examining the leaves of your plants.

I'd wager many are there only for the light, and some will even rest on your plant leaves that are closest to the light just to bask.

But others, namely those fungus gnats you mentioned, can certainly harm your plants. It's always best just to keep ALL of that shit out. Easier said than done, I know. Is there anyway to filter the air coming into your grow room? I don't know anything about your setup, but I've used screens mounted in my passive intake to filter bugs that I did not want in my cabinet. Once again, that's much harder in a 8x8x4 space compared with a 3x3x6 space.

Edit: One more thing. You will probably always get bugs in the summer if you aren't in strict, indoor conditions (even then, it's not uncommon). Try to determine if any of the bugs you have actually feed on plant matter.

well, theres 2 plants that look like it might have harmed or maybe its the intensity of seedlings bein under a HPS but one of the seedlings has 2 leaves and their pointing straight up at the light, and the other seedling has chunks out of the leaves...

i think the first one might has just got stressed some how and the second one fell to that grub i was talking about...

haha yea man i huff that shit all the time lmao jk.but it does kill all types of bugs even thos pesky spyder gnats<haha spyder gnats i ment spyder mites, sounded funny so i left it.it will take about 3 days or so for it to fully do itz job. another thing i was thinking was what if u sprayed the base of the grow room with like off bug spray or something that mite help just some randomness that poped into my head

well its been 2 days since i used all the chemicals and they were a success haha theres zero bugs now except a few dead ones on the ground
