hey guys, whats up!!! Ive been working on a grow area for about 2 weeks now and i have finally got it going!! so i germed one seed(bagseed) and planted it about 3 days ago, and this is what im working with right now

GROW BOX: 3.5 ft tall 2 ft wide 1.5
Lined with white computer paper (will be getting mylar, or emergency blanket soon)


SOIL: Pro-Mix Organic Potting Soil
-Canadian Sphagnum peat moss (75%-85%)
-Perlite
-Limestone(for pH adjustment)
-Wetting agent

LIGHTING: im going strictly CFL with this and will be getting more lighting fixtures soon enough
-One 105w 5000k Full Spectrum CFL 6900 lumens
-One 26w CFL (im not sure if its daylight or soft white, but if u can guys tell what it is i have a 23w 6500k daylight that im sure of)

so tell me what u guys think of the setup so far, i know its not the greatest area but i am only looking to get my feet wet with growing before jumping right into it! any and all advice is welcome

looks very similar to mine. good luck with this new setup with the cfls. you have a bit more vertical room than mi do but I dont think that will really matter if we both LST

the heat in my room is set at 68* and when i went in and felt inside the area was more like 75-80 not burning hot at all just a nice cozy temp, but i will be getting a thermometer in a few days once i get a few more bills

hold on ill get u the exact website that i ordered it from, and altogether with shipping and handling only came out to $30.59!

it looks right now likes its stretching a littile bit but i have the light at 2.5 inches (measured it just now)

does anyone know what kind of light the smaller CFL is y looking at the light??? im almost positive its soft white but it doesnt sy shit on it

its definitely a warmer CFL, probably a 6500k. The 2700ks look a lot more yellow/red. That 105 watt is sweet though, i wouldnt mind one..

you should get some reflectors for those lights though, cause the CFLs emit light 360 degrees around, you gotta redirect the light comin off the backside.. Feel me!?

check out my journal, i made some sweet little reflectors, took like five minutes a piece.

i got the (105w)lightbulb yesterday in the mail and i just set it up, but havent been able to find anything large enough in my house to make into a reflector haha but im gonna work on that soon

Just find some cardboard or somethin for now man, line that shit with foil. It can even just be flat, dosent have to be fancy. You just want all the light you got goin straight to those plants.

Im just starting too but trust me, all the little things you do for your ladies will slowly but surely pay off.
