You're left cutting your own out of some filtreete/similar material which is really only good for particulate matter and not vapor or smoke.

There are Ozone generators that are made to fit inside of ducting, but i don't think that's the best fit for you. Not to mention they're bad for you and your plants and are meant to only be used in the exhaust run, some distance form the actual grow, and vented in a safe place outside.

You could get an air purifier or an ionizer to help abate the smoke.

Since proper/adequate ventilation is key to normal growth, you should do all you can to decrease the amount of smoke (cigarette or other) your plants endure.

Re: General Questions about Grow closet

I think my best bet is gonna be to have my intake tube sucking in air from the ground under a dresser since its not rly ever smoky there and keeping the room that my grow closet is in less smoky

Re: General Questions about Grow closet

With the small amount of info. you've provided and no pics either, you're receiving little more than speculative advice.

I'd have continued my torrent of scientific proof and just plain common sense in post #13 if i thought you'd have listened. But it seems your cigarettes take president in your smoking/gardening hobbies, as i suspected, so good luck with that.

I'm guessing you're younger than 23, i'll hazard a guess and say you're probably 19.

Take it from someone who's been smoking longer than you've been walking. Either quit smoking, or find a way to smoke without it impacting such important things as your garden. Believe me, it's a sh!t ton easier to just go outside to smoke than it is to engineer your way through the cloud. Lol.

Have you ever read the "Read Before Posting" thread? ---> http://forum.grasscity.com/general-i...g-updated.html

If you have a fan sucking air into the closet, it'll take whatever else is in the air with it. You won't be able to prevent smoke penetrating the grow room just by changing the position of your intake. You'll have to change the location (ie. another room, attic, crawl/similar space that does not share air with the smokey room.

If anything, you should be exhausting into your room, not in-taking from it. You also need some kind of intake/exhaust to work with the one you've got. You can't draw air out of or push air into a space that only has one hole. It's like a straw with a cap on one end.

Have you looked at any of the grow room/box design threads? ---> http://forum.grasscity.com/grow-room...ign-guide.html

Re: General Questions about Grow closet

Close im 24. And of course there will be an intaek and an exhaust. If i were choosing of of the 2 it would exhaust and id hjust have it intake ait passivly but i am going with both.
As for the smoking well.. lets just say it would be to hard and too unstealthy too smoke my cigs and blunts outside..
This is not my 1st grow op.
I have a few big grows operations under my belt.
Due to legal matters i am stuck with growing a personal stash in my closet.
But you are correct , this smoke wont do, thats why im devising a way to run ducting tube from inside the closet through sheetrock and suck air from inside the wall with a partical filter attached of course.
Or running the intake duct to some other place in the house and secretly intake air from a room that is not smoked in , secret because ill make the duct poke thru maybe rly low in another closet adjacent to mine.

It sounds like you have a better handle on things than your first posts let on.

Re: General Questions about Grow closet

thank much for your help dude , i was about to not do anything about the smoke.
ive never grown in such a confined space and havent ever worried about smoke so im a little confused but im pretty sure if i air tight the door of the closet and intake air from inside the walls and exhaust it pretty much any where outside the closet i should be ok.
im also gonna put my air purifier in the closet , it cant hurt. ( i think).
Ive had larger grows , up to 50 plants when i lived on my own , i was just usuing a whole bedroom as the grow room , lined with all white plastic , intake and exhaust both from outside air right thru the window, i also used half of another bedroom for veg.
Used half a dozen 1000w hps for flowering and shit loads of floro for veg.

I see. So why didn't you ever call those days. I would've loved to share in the 6,000w glory.

Oh reeaaaaallllyy???

So, what kind of service did you have to cook 400,000 watts of lighting for 18 hours a day? Did NASA design your breaker panel?

Was that Three-phase or...........?

What voltage?

What was your power bill like?

What kind of ventilation system did you have? Brand, power consumption, CFM, size? What kind of service did it have?

What was the sq. footage?

How many ounces did each plant yield?

Got any pics??? Ha ha....... yeah.

If this was his answer for "what was your first plant like" --> he should be able to completely squash all the other breeders/producers no problem.
