| Bubble cloner to rockwool question
Hi, was wondering if anyone can give me a little help here. I'm using a bubble cloner with a styrofoam raft where the stems are just submersed about an inch in the bubbling water. My question is this:
How should I go about transferring the clones into rockwool? I started with 14 clones in the bubbler. After 7 days (yesterday) two of them were starting to show about 1/4" long roots so I tried transplanting them from the cloner into rockwool by just cutting them out of the foam and making the hole in the RW big enough to fit the stem and the roots, then just put it in and kind of closed the RW back around the stem. I put them under a dome and today they are looking pretty dead, very bent over and losing color.
Anyone have any tips on this? I've got 2 or 3 more starting to show the beginning of roots so I would like to get this figured out pretty soon. Thanks.
Edit-I will also be needing to transfer clones from this system to soil, what would be the best way of going about doing that? I figure I should let the roots get more developed for the ones going into soil because the rockwool only has so much room for the roots to be in which is why I tried transplanting them with such small roots. Thanks again.
