Heat and humidity

I just rebuilt my grow room, about 20 sq ft. and 6'6" grow height restriction. With the 600 watt, it gets pretty warm.

I'm thinking of investing in a small indoor swamp cooler. Will the extra humidity help or hinder me?

Thanks for any responses and or suggestions.

Hiigel

I like to keep the room as dry as possible. If given the choice between cool or dry, I would pick cool. I don't think a swamp cooler will cause it to rain inside your grow.

Don't wanna jack this thread but I have a heat question and I didn't want to create a redundent thread. Is 88 degrees F too hot? It gets this hot outside a lot, especially in Mexico and weed is grown there so why do people say you should keep it under 80 and such? I'm trying to grow in a fairly small closet with a 400 watt light and even with 2 x 120cfm intake fans, 1 x 120cfm exhaust and 1 x 500 cfm exhaust fan it stays at 88.

I have grown in 95*F and more during the summer months. I get my cooling air from outside, so if it's 110* outside, it's 110* in my grow room.

Do the best you can. Keep trying to improve your cooling/ventilation system. I am always looking for new ways to get the room cooler. But I won't let high temps stop me from growing.

It grows better and faster in the mid 70's. It still grows in the upper 90's. My summer harvest is great but not as great as winter harvest *but still great*

Simple tip: Drill more intake holes. Three or more 4" holes will make a big difference.

If mid 80's is the best you can do, then have at it.
Good growing, R.

Hey guys, thanks for the answers.

I also get fresh air via a 90 cfm fan, have a ventilated lamp, have an additional 90 cfm exhaust venting into an existing bathroom ceiling vent which runs constantly. I'm in Eastern Oregon and it gets warm here. Last time I ran the 600 was in May, and it got up to 166 degrees in there.

I decided, while the renovation was going on and I needed to wait for $ to buy a cooler, I'd just throw them in the ground and let em fly, and fly they did! The tallest is now over my height of 6'6" and going strong. Most are four and taller, cept for the Trainwreck, which was tied down and is now a monster at four feet tall, five feet wide, and six feet deep and growing by the day.

Pice will follow when I figure it out

Hiigel
