Mounting PVC Pipe to Plywood

I built an indoor grow box recently and last night I purchased some black PVC pipe to be used for intake. I have set it up similar to this (put together by RobsGreen):

I cut two holes and inserted the PVC pipe. It fits loosely, but leans some and will probably not stay in place when moving the grow box.

My question is this: What do I use to secure the PVC pipe to the plywood? I have some wood glue and I have epoxy (stronger). Please and thank you for any advice!

there is this stuff called plumbers tape, or plumbers strap. its a thin strip of aluminum about 1/8" thick and 1" wide that has holes about every two inches. you can find it at home depot or any other hardware store.

its made of aluminum so its very bendy, you can put it over the outside of your pipe and screw it to your plywood through the holes in the strap.

I found some general purpose caulking/adhesive at home depot for like 4 bucks, and it works great for that...just put my exhaust in lastnight and plan to use this to secure everthing when im sure its all in place.

When you did this, did you run a bead of caulk around the hole, insert the PVC pipe, and wait for it to dry? How did you support the PVC pipe to ensure that it dryed in the proper position?

I am thinking of going this route because it will seal out the light in my grow box. This grow box will be used for flowering so that is critical.

By the way rich did you ever figure out a way to seal your the door on your grow cabinet from light? Did you go with weather stripping? I will be coming to this hurdle very soon.

It just occured to me that I could probably use that plumbers strap to mount it and then put caulk around it to seal it from light. Hmm.....
