I'm using a mr clean auto-dry sprayer, it reduces the ppm a lot. But depending on the hardness you have to replace the filter after 20 gallons or so. I don't have a tds meter but someone who has tested it with one said it brought it down from 250 ppm to 20 ppm.But it's only like 10 bucks. And i assume buying a new filter is cheaper.
