Air conditioning in Attic: Window AC?

Would a 5 or 6k BTU window air conditioning unit be able to cool a small space (100 ft^3) effectively, considering ambient temps of 115*? Normally they could cover above 800 ft^3, just not sure if it could work with the high temps?

Block off the section with the window unit and it will cool whatever portion you block off. I don't think it would cool the whole area with 115 degree temps. Maybe though, if it's brand new. Otherwise just get some black plastic from the hardware store and block off a section to use.
