Probably wouldnt hurt, it will give you piece of mind if you are paranoid about it. I dont have one but I could care less how bad it smells, lol. There is also stuff you can buy that will mask the smell. Ona is a brand I heard good things about.

if your worried about neighbors you might want a carbon filter.
somebody was growing in my apartment complex and every morning when the wind hadnt picked up yet it reeked like chronic for about a square block radius. although its nice, its not a good thing.
