Hols - what to do
I'm off for a 10-day vacation abroad. Can't leave my plants for outsiders care.
Plants are in huge pots that I normally water about every fifth day. Plants are in greenhouse and are currently enjoying nearly 24 hours of natural light (on latitude 66 north, in early July, we have nearly 24 hour sun but iit decreases rapidly towards mid September when we have 12-12).
Should I put the plants into flowers during my hols by decreasing the light already now to 12-12?
That would mean moving the plants to inside and to artificial light. This way I could control the watering better - but on the other hand the hours of light will in 1.5 months anyway go down to 12 hours.
They've been growing now for 3 (12 weeks) months and have reached their hight (Blueberries: hight between 1 - 1,5 metres). They are now growing a lot of side branches.
Would the additional 1.5 months of growing time add the yield?
Or would it even be harmfull to the plants?
If I leave the plants for 10 days how should I ensure that they do not dry down?
Wet newspaper around the pots is one trick that I've learned.
Any other good tricks?
