New grow box fan/filter placement question
I'm building a new box (33d x 24w x 44h). I have a 250 MH w/ hood (I'm going to buy the lens next week). I have a 4" Active Air, in-line fan and Active Air 18x5 carbon filter.
QUESTION: I understand I should mount the fan and filter on the top (I'll use bungees), next to the light. (YES, Im concerned the heat from the light will burn the filter and start a fire!) Since my space is so limited I was wondering if 1) Can I mount the fan on the exterior of the box? Are there any dis-advantages (beside noise)? 2) Can I mount the carbon filter suspended verticle on the side wall instead of horizontal on the top? Thank you for all your help! MAX |
