Can a cutting off a mature plant (lower), that is flowering, be put in soil and switched back to veg, or is it already too mature and should stay on 12/12?

Well you can't just stick it right in soil. You would have to root it first of course... But yes it will turn back to veg on an 18/6 or 24/0 schedule. But it will take a serious long time with it having to root and return to veg. So be patient and yes. it works.

My friend said they were well mature, and he should either take a few cuttings or cut the whole thing down.?? I'll tell him to go ahead and try a cutting or two and see what happens? Thanks again for the advice.,,,

Doesn't take any longer if you do it immediately after the plant shows sex... like during the first week of 12/12.

I wouldn't do it after that though.
