Watering question

When a person uses the pumping meathod of watering, and growing the plants with as little water as possible, (soil) cfl's, does that restrict the speed and size of the buds? Plants seem healthy and seem to do great, but just wonder if the person were to have watered more, if they would have been larger?

What's the pumping method of watering? Are you talking about a passive wick system?
Anyways water is just as important as air, light, food etc. Restrict one of those and yield and potency can be affected. Especially in flowering you don't want to restrict water to your plants.

Cool According to grow guide

Pumping is basically refered to as watering more often, but not quite as much as to let it run out the bottom. Not too wet, but also not too dry. It was said, that a dryer soil actually increased potency? So many guides say different things?

Yeah growing mj is a very personal activity. So many opinions and 'gurus' out there lol. But what guide was this out of curiosity?

Ok so now I know what pumping is, never heard of it but you want to make sure your roots are well saturated and there are no dry pockets in your soil. Obviously that would cause root damage affecting overall health/potency/yield. As long as you have good drainage and you let the soil dry out a little in between waterings you shouldn't have to worry too much about overwatering. I don't know if I buy the theory that that guide is promoting.

Cool Yea; i hear ya on the many guru's

I have read so many do's and donts, that date way back to the 70's and one of the first pubs on the subject, called "The Marijauana Growing Guide" you could purchase at the head shop. (1978). Some things in that first book are still true and good today, but many things are now known to be crap. Anyone else out there old enough to have been blessed with the reading of this pub?
The current guide that mentioned the pumping meathod i refer too, is on the web site dutch-seeds.com and go to grow guide. At least i think its that site, ive read so many, i'll have to double check after this to make sure?
I do know that the person that tried this, did end up with some kick ass couch lock when it was all said and done, and from bag seed to boot., Still always wondered if he would have watered (soaked), and then waited again till dry, if they would have been heftier size or not. I sort of think every grow is different and can prove right and wrong ways to just about everything?? Anyway, thanks for the input, and toke ya later,,
