1st time grow

Hi there, long time reader, first time poster. Also first time grower, thus the thread. I'm looking for comments from this great community.

closet grow
400W MH 24/0, will use HPS bulb during flowering
Watering when the soil is dry (about once a day until I transplant to a bigger container)
FF ocean forest soil
no nutes until flowering, FF tripack when flowering
several fans blowing around
5 AK47 sprouts, seeds from HGS
temps around 83ish, RH around 37
very little PH analysis at this point
using tap water or brita which has been sitting for 24H to get rid of chlorine

5/5 - begin germ
5/7 - beans hatch, put into FF soil
5/10 - all five beans break the surface
5/11 - begin 24/0 MH lighting
5/15 - leaf development, "taco/conoeing" of leaves(?)

so everything seems to be going pretty good thus far, i was really happy with the quick germination and sprouting. also very happy with HGS seeds purchase. please see the attached pics for the "taco" comment from above. Also, the plant one of the plants is leaning pretty bad. What are your thoughts, general, specific whatever! Is this n00b doing ok? thanks guys and i'd like to say that this community has really helped me learn a lot and the grow journals specifically are what have inspired me.

So day 32 into flowering...

My girls have been getting a severe case of yellowing leaves and some spotting (small black dots). this has been occurring on the lower leaves and they have either fallen off the stem or I pulled them.

Oh and by the way, they are hermied I am trying to maximize my results and could really use some advice! Should I pull them? Should I flush them? Should I wait out the storm? The hairs are turning as you can see. Please comment! Thanks!

if it were me i would ride out the storm. you should still have at least another 20-35 days to go and those girls should start to fatten up nice the last few weeks. i would also feed at least one more time but thats just me. the yellow leaves are common during flower. the black spots i don't know about so hopefully some one else will help you out on that matter. oh and go get yourself a hand held microscope to check out the trics to let you know when they are truly done

id kee pgoing too i just got rid of a hermie i ended up waiting a month and 4 weeks n 8 days jsut to find out it was male lol but keep it goin cos u could still learn from this plant mines out in garden now gettin wind cold and maybe frost in mornings lol gonna start another grow soon tho keep ya eyes out

Cool, thanks for the advice kona, I think that's what I'll do -- just reduce the nutes and keep a watchful eye. It seems to me that it started when I added the fox farms Beastie Blooms. I guess I need to be more careful with ph concerns.

Hey bigbuduk, yeah hermies suck males are worse -- of my original 5 plants, two were male and were sent to the chopping block. So it goes... I think ultimately I over-stressed them with LST at an early age. You're absolutely right about learning, that's why this is a fun hobby .

Thanks sandman! Yeah about 3 1/2 weeks of veg under the MH lights. I assume the short veg time is the reason they're somewhat short (about 13 inches). I just put a carbon filter in the room too (this one) which solved the smell issues I was having.

Ing - That carbon filter does it work completely? is there any smell? also how is the noise with that?

Hey liquid069, yeah so far so good. When I smoke in there, after I leave and come back in five minutes, there is no smell at all. I like the built-in fan too because I don't have all of the custom duct work in place [yet], so I can just drop it in place (I have it hanging, actually). The sound is definitely non-negligible, probably not a good idea for stealth. It works for me though.

This reminds me a bunch of my grow but without the hermies damn. Sorry about that yea I would pull that plant that hermied and wait it out if you can. Can't really tell how bad it is yet though.... How many of them are showing the bananas?

But.... You smoke in there? I guess that's not bad but I just have to ask since sooo many people seem to do it... What is the point? I mean couldn't that cause your hermies since it's from any kind of stress.
