Harvest Question

Hey everyone;
When the buds (Mainly Top), have about 50/50 red vs white hairs, do the buds still have much growing left? or are they close to best they will get?
Only lowest growth still has mostly white hairs, but rest are 50/50 or more.
Age of plant is 5 mo, total, with last 1.5 mo being 12/12.

If i do remember correctly it is harvest time right after you see a bit of darker orange in the tops of the hair but it is still clear closer towards the bottom, basically so it looks like it got toasted.




And also i do believe you can chop the finished buds off at the node and finish flowering the lower part of the plants without it receiving any harm

hehe yup you are right in your description, opinion varies from grower to grower but i got for the 50/50 split then chop

Thats what I thought, but wanted some second opinions on the thing so i didnt worry that they could have filled out more. I was of the thought to do just that, and just chop upper half, and let rest keep going, but also wonder about if i may take away from potencey, if i didnt hang the whole stem, so as to reap the hidden sap in the stems?? If the stem doesnt contain that much extra, then im going to go with the half way option.

You should get the ten dollar microscope from radio shack and check the trichomes to get a better idea of when to harvest...search for radio shack microscope and you can find it.

yeah that's definitely the best way to tell how ripe your buds are. look for the trichomes to be cloudy (or amber if you want a more couchlock high). if the trichs are mostly clear, then she still has some cooking to do.
