Best Way to Harvest?

What is the best, fastest, and most effective way of harvesting and curing the budz? I've heard numerous ways to do this. The best way i've heard so far was to cut the budz when they were ready and to hang them upside down to dry for a couple days with a fan on them. does anyone know any other ideas better than this or is that the way to go?

The faster you dry and cure the buds, the more harsh the smoke will be and the taste won't be as good. It will taste "green".

An aged cure can definately give your buds a smoother smoke. As far as a fast cure goes, many people have said that the water cure is not only very fast, but also results in higher-potency buds; however, they also say that water-curing also results in a smaller yield than air-curing. Search around for the water cure. I have yet to try this method, but I will try it with a couple of buds from my next harvest.

patience is key when growing. imo 2 weeks minimum cure before smoking. the buds will begin to take on a leathery texture by this time.

Dry the buds as slowly as possible. I have heard that cutting the entire plant down (provided it is less than 3 feet tall) and hanging it upside down is one of the best ways to dry since the moisture in the plant will slow down the drying time. The last time I harvested I cut off all the main bud sites (I scrogged the fuck out of my girls) and hung them from butchers twine strung across the inside of large brown moving boxes with holes cut in them to allow for some air flow. The resulting smoke, after a few weeks in jars, was exceptional and loved by all who tried it.
The key to good tasting smoke is patience - whether you are drying or curing. Give your buds 10 days to 2 weeks to dry and then cure for a month. The wait is worth it!!!

Bingo, you do not want a fan directly on them, but fresh air constantly being moved in.

If you really MUST dry your buds quickly, Jorge Cervantes's Bible has a technique involving dry ice that I'm sure you could try. The $25 for the book will save you hundreds if not thousands later.
