A question

I'm on my third indoor grow and I have been flowering my girls (2 G13 x Haze from Barneys' Farm) for about two weeks now, however, due to a delay in getting my cabinet set up I am fast running out of time, as I have to move out of my flat at the end of June. I was just wondering if there is an easy way of speeding up flowering; I have read that if you increase the dark period then you can force them into flowering quicker but you also lose a lot of yield with the much reduced light period they will receive.

The only thing I could come up with was to put them on a 16 hour dark period followed by a longer 12 hour light period (I should be able to achieve this with a combination of 24hr timers), hopefully mitigating some of the loss in yield. I am not aware of plants being bound to a strict 24hr cycle, however if I am wrong in this or you have any better suggestions please correct me.

I would be interested in finding out how that works out for you; however, in my experience, altering the photoperiods from the standard 12/12 during the flowering process tends to promote the production of staminate flowers. if you have no other choice then I would suggest trying it out. Keep an eye out for the male flowers and cut them off if you find them before any pollination can occur. Good Luck!

I wouldn't mess with the light cycle. If you have been in flower for 2 weeks already, you will have about 9 weeks flowering time by the end of June--that is long enough for many strains. If you mess with the light cycle and end up with hermies and a seeded crop, you're going to sacrifice a lot of product. Seeds can account for 50-70% of the weight of the buds, leaving you with far less smokable material.
