Air Flow
Hey Guys, If I have an 8'' Vortex pulling old air out of my air tight closet (10x10) through a carbon scrudder, and I have anoter vent tube, linked to the outside, will that automatically create a vaccum to bring in fresh air or would I need to put an inline fan into the fresh air vent tube?

If it's air tight with 2 vents, 1 with an inline fan blowing out, it HAS to come from the other one, so yes. Your probably going to want to vent out at the top of your box since heat rises and vent in at the bottom to pull the cooler air in.

Thanks DR T. My first grow, my seed just sprouted today and I'm setting up the grow room tomorrow. Its appreciated
Do I need to worry about the smell traveling up through the fresh air intake? Also, I have a carbon Scrubber set up in the room (Hooked up to my exhaust) is it necessary to have another carbon filter on the end of my exhaust, right beore the air is released into my attic? The smell will vary depending on how many plants you grow and the strain and vigor of the plants. Also, the smell usually doesn't get out of hand until the last week or two of flowering and of course throughout the drying process untill they get into jars. This will give you plenty of time to figure it out. The smell wouldn't come through the intake, instead it would exhaust from the room; however, some kind of screen, or if possible, a hepa filter on the intake would be nice to prevent insects and their larva and mold spores from entering the grow. Carbon filters have always worked wonders in my experience as far as removing the odor from the exhaust air. I have used Carbonaire can-style filters for years now because they have never failed me...and I have pushed quite a bit of odor through them in the past. They make 4" 6" 8" and 12" filters and they have a built-in flange that an inline fan such as a Vortex will fit snugly into.

Re:
VERY nice thought on the Hepa filter for Insect control, as soon as I read that, I wrote it on my Grow Room Blue print which I'm building tomorrow! I din't think of that step. I was supprised today when my seeds started to germinate because for the last 2 weeks, I thought I bought 15 Fems when I actually bought 20. Hope its not too much for this Nubie :-) thanks again DR T

Room is about 11x11 (Walk in closet). I will have 20 Plants (10 Strawberry haze, 5 Haze #2 and 5 WW) I plan to Veg under a 1000W MH and flower under a 1000HPS. Using Soil and just got a co2 tank as well. I Plan to have the Co2 and the exhaust fan running off a control, so tht each time the room is cleared, the co2 can be put back to normal. My Light Will run on another timer with its own air exhaust. Like I said, this is my first try and hope that my set up is good enough. My wife is putting a lot of trust in me that I dont mess anything up and get caught, so please forgive is I seem like I'm asking to many questions. Your advise is always appreciated man :-)
