Can I increase the chance of having a hermie?

I want to make one of my plant's a hermie so I can make feminized seeds. Is it possible to stress the plant enough to do this, or is it just luck?

I just went into flowering yesterday.

no guarantees, but stressing it will most likely work...

From my research, I've learned that the "soma method" of createing feminized seeds is to force hermi by continuing to flower 1-2 weeks past the date of optimum harvest, where the female will form a special pollen sac that looks kinda like a banana. use this pollen on another female plant to create fem. seeds.

I've also read about using gibberilic acid to create fem. seeds, but dont know much about it.

I've never done this myself, but it seems to work for others.

It's easy to stress plants into going hermie (in fact, unless the seed itself came from a hermie plant stress is pretty much the only thing that will cause hermaphroditism).

Messing with the light schedule is probably the easiest way to do this, since playing around with fert concentration or pH can outright kill a plant.

But a true feminized seed is a second generation seed, not the product of a single hermied plant. There was a thread here on GC about it a while ago, if I have time later I'll see if I can dig it up.

P.S. Did you use your photoshop skills on your avatar pic too?
