please helllp
so i have i lamp socket and reflector for it and it says on the socket that the max watt is 250 on it, so if i buy a 150 watt hps bulb from Rona or wherever. do i still need a ballast?? also i just bought a 45 watt twisty cfl bulb it pumps out 3,000 lumens and is 4100K colour temperature it realllly big.
so first im asking could i use that 150 watt hps bulb on this 250 max light?? and second which light do you guys think that would be more efficient,150 watt hps or 45watt cfl??? |

Lamp socket? Like a normal socket that you would plug a CFL or any bulb into? NO this will not work. HPS lights need their own ballast and other shit to work. As for your other question, I'm not sure what you mean by effecient, but CFLs have a fraction of the power/lumens of any HPS, HPS is much more powerful but of course uses more electricity. Hoped this helped.
