Pruning?
Hi all I'm 2 weeks into flower and want to prune my 3 plants I have so the light can penetrate the lower part of the plant becoz they are pretty tall how much of the fans leaves can I snip??? I have seen pics of some plants with hardly any fan leaves and others with quite a few I'm growing Big Bud strain

never remove any fan leaves, they act as solar panals collecting light & converting it into energy for growth. u can tuck, tie back, or trim part of the leaf to get better light penitration. or add some cfl's around the sides.

if you can't tuck it pluck it! there's "no" problem with pruning. the key is not to do too much at any one time. stretch it out for a couple days. fluorescent side lighting is pretty much a waste. in order for them to do any good, they must be very close. you do that, and now you're restricting airflow. i'm talking about fixtures like t-5's. the bulbs would be totally laughable. if you keep your plants at a height that doesn't go much beyond the lights penetration depth, you don't need to worry about the sides.
