What wattage of CFL is most efficient/effective/effortless/eff-ing best?

Has it been shown that 27 watt varieties of CFL's give the best lumen/watt ratio? I know that they appeared to be the most light for size in my grow... I just get curious if the larger (42-, 65-, and 125-watt) bulbs are worth my time when, especially with CFL's, it seems good to be able to divvy up the wattage to spread the light around more. Do the larger bulbs give enuff intensity to penetrate some leaf layers or to give a denser bud?

My favorites are 42 watters, they give you the most light for the dollar. Anything higher than a 45 watt is a waste of money, a 125 watt costs about 6 times as much and only puts out 3 times as many lumens. On the other hand, 27 watts is too small. I bought some 27 watters when the store was out of anything bigger, and I just ended up loaning all of them to friends because they simply did not put out enough light for the amount of space they covered.

Hmmm... for my smallish grow, the 27's were great because for less than the wattage of two 42's, I could get 3 points of light that were almost as bright.

I use 30watt cfls. They putt out 2000 lumens each and were only $3 and some change each from 1000bulbs.com, and they have them in 2700k and 6400k
